Mary Did You Know 2012

We have a lot to be thankful for this year. We’ve struggled, like most Americans, and we’ve suffered setbacks. But we’re still here. That’s most of the battle, right? We are so grateful for our health and continued momentum, if not prosperity, and wanted to show our appreciation for those who have stood by us during some difficult times and a difficult year. We’re going to do that by releasing newly re-mixed and re-mastered versions of our 2009 Christmas collection, which you can download for free.

We’re kicking off that effort with the Mark Lowry song, “Mary Did You Know”. It features Windhaven as stripped down as possible, with a single vocal track by Victoria and a lone guitar track by Wicasta, with only some piano accents and a bass guitar during the bridge to flesh out the recording a bit. We hope you like the new mix, and we hope you’re as surprised as we were to hear how much more alive and dynamic the song is now.

This Christmas collection will be made available in its entirety on a special page, where you can listen to individual tracks or the entire collection, and download songs at will. “Mary Did You Know” is the first we’re adding, but there’ll be more over the next few days and weeks, leading up to Christmas Day when we’ll post a re-mastered version of “Peggy’s Song” in honor of Wicasta’s mother, Peggy Chaney (who died shortly after Christmas in 2011, and to whom this collection is dedicated).

Anyway, we hope you enjoy “Mary Did You Know”. We honestly feel like we’ve finally done the song and the recording justice.

About Wicasta

Depending upon whom you ask, Wicasta Lovelace is an author, musician, artist, web designer and/or delusional lunatic (which one he is at any given moment depends upon the day of the week, really). You can find him on Google+, Twitter and Facebook. Wicasta is working on several novels and recording music.
He is the principle editor of the Malleus Maleficarum project, lead author at PaganCentric, curator at Mama Peggy, and systems engineer at Floozees Doozees.
